This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with experience in property disputes, land disputes or wider civil litigation who is looking to develop their career within a well-regarded, long-standing practice.

The role offers a varied caseload, primarily focused on property and land litigation for private clients, with scope to become involved in other areas of civil and commercial dispute resolution depending on your experience and interests.

The Property Litigation Role

You will manage your own caseload of contentious property and land matters, advising clients throughout the dispute resolution process.

Typical matters may include:

• Residential possession proceedings
• Rent arrears and rent recovery
• Landlord and tenant disputes
• Property and land disputes
• Contractual disputes
• Boundary and ownership issues
• Other residential property litigation matters

There is also the opportunity to gain exposure to a broader range of civil litigation work for those who would like a more varied caseload.

Depending on your experience and interests, this could include: Contentious probate, Professional negligence, partnership and shareholder disputes, agricultural and farming partnership disputes

About You

This opportunity would suit a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in Property Litigation, Civil Litigation or Dispute Resolution.

Ideally, you will have:

• Qualification as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
• At least 1 year of post-qualification experience, although candidates with relevant pre-qualification experience may also be considered
• Experience handling property, land or wider civil litigation matters
• The ability to manage files with an appropriate level of autonomy
• Strong communication, client care and negotiation skills
• A genuine interest in dispute resolution and contentious work

This role could be particularly well suited to a Property Litigation Lawyer looking for greater responsibility, a broader range of contentious work and the opportunity to build a long-term career with an established Exeter law firm.
