If you’re an Insurance Litigation Solicitor with 2–5 years’ PQE, this is a great opportunity to join a growing Belfast-based defence insurance team working on a varied caseload of personal injury and complex liability claims.

The role

As a Defence Insurance Associate in Belfast, you’ll handle a broad mix of personal injury litigation matters, acting primarily for insurers and self-insured organisations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and assisting on motor, employer’s liability, public liability and disease claims
• Running your own caseload while supporting senior lawyers on more complex disputes
• Drafting pleadings, reports and detailed client advice
• Investigating claims, including liaising with policyholders and taking witness statements
• Reviewing and interpreting medical evidence and expert reports
• Attending court hearings, case reviews and pre-trial meetings
• Ensuring compliance with client SLAs, reporting standards and reserving requirements
• Maintaining accurate file management and correspondence
• Building trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders
• Supporting business development and wider team initiatives

About you

This role would suit an Insurance Litigation/Personal Injury Solicitor who:

• Has 2–5 years’ PQE (guideline level, flexibility for the right candidate)
• Brings experience in personal injury litigation (defence experience beneficial but not essential)
• Is comfortable managing files within a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrates strong drafting and analytical skills
• Has an interest in advocacy and court work
• Understands client service delivery, including SLAs and reporting standards
• Takes a proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Communicates effectively with clients and colleagues
• Enjoys working as part of a collaborative and driven team
