The Role

A well-established and fast-growing regional law firm in Taunton is seeking a Court of Protection Solicitor to join its successful and expanding team.

This opportunity is ideal for a Newly Qualified Solicitor or lawyer with up to 4–5 years’ PQE who already has experience in Court of Protection and Property & Affairs work.

You will manage your own Court of Protection caseload and advise clients, families, deputies and other professionals on a range of Property and Financial Affairs matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of Court of Protection Property & Affairs matters
• Overseeing bank accounts, investments, benefits and day-to-day financial decisions
• Preparing Court of Protection applications and supporting documentation
• Liaising with clients, families, deputies and the Office of the Public Guardian
• Drafting witness statements and court applications
• Representing clients at Court of Protection hearings
• Supporting and supervising junior team members where appropriate

About You

You will already have experience working within Court of Protection law and will ideally be managing your own caseload.

This role would suit:

• A Newly Qualified Solicitor with relevant Court of Protection experience
• A Court of Protection Solicitor with 1–5 years’ PQE
• A lawyer with experience in Property & Affairs work
• Someone looking for genuine career progression within a specialist team
