The Role

Working closely with the Head of Department and wider legal team, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing legal and administrative support across a busy childcare caseload.
• Managing client files, appointments and diaries.
• Liaising with clients, courts and other professionals.
• Preparing correspondence, court documents and legal paperwork.
• Diarising court orders and monitoring key deadlines.
• Filing and lodging documents with the court.
• Attending court hearings as required.
• Supporting solicitors with the day-to-day management of their caseloads.

As you develop within the role, you will have the opportunity to take on increased responsibility and progress towards a Paralegal position.

The Person

To be considered for this Childcare Legal Assistant position, you will ideally have:

• A law degree, LPC or equivalent legal qualification.
• Previous experience within a Family or Childcare legal department.
• Knowledge or experience of childcare law.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and client care skills.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• A proactive, motivated and professional approach.
