An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Disputes lawyer to join the Sydney office of a leading international law firm.
The firm has a highly regarded Construction & Infrastructure disputes practice, acting on major and complex matters across the infrastructure, transport, energy and development sectors. The team handles substantial litigation, international arbitration and adjudication, as well as strategic dispute avoidance work, often involving major projects and cross-border issues.
The successful candidate will work closely with a highly regarded partner and take a senior role within a busy and collegiate team. The position will involve:
Candidates are likely to have at least six years’ post-qualification experience and a strong background in contentious construction matters. Experience of major infrastructure, energy or development disputes would be particularly relevant.
Applications are particularly encouraged from Australian and New Zealand-qualified lawyers currently practising overseas who are considering a return to the region. This is an opportunity to return to a sophisticated disputes practice undertaking genuinely high-quality work, while taking on a senior position within an established team.
The firm is also very interested in hearing from English-qualified Construction Disputes lawyers attracted by the quality of the Australian market and the opportunity to gain significant international experience. Importantly, a move to Sydney need not be viewed as permanent: for the right English-qualified lawyer, the firm would consider an extended placement of approximately two to three years, with the possibility of extending further.
This could be an excellent option for a UK-based lawyer who would like to spend a meaningful period working in Australia, gaining exposure to major disputes in a different international market, without necessarily committing to a permanent move to the other side of the world.
Relocation assistance can be provided where appropriate.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a sophisticated international disputes practice, work on major construction and infrastructure matters and enjoy the professional and lifestyle benefits of being based in Sydney.

We endeavour to respond to all applications within 72 hours, however due to the volume of applications we receive we may not be able to respond to every candidate individually and would advise that if you do not hear from us you should assume you are not successful in your application.
