Local Authority Planning Lawyer
Overview A well-regarded local authority is seeking an experienced Planning Lawyer to join its legal team on a locum basis. This role has arisen due to a sustained increase in workload, and the successful candidate will provide additional support to an established and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting, negotiating, and advising on Section 106 agreements and related planning obligationsProviding legal advice on a broad range of planning matters to planning officers and other stakeholdersSupporting the delivery of development projects by ensuring timely and effective legal inputManaging a varied caseload with minimal supervisionAdvising on planning enforcement, appeals, and policy where requiredRequirements
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive in England & WalesSignificant experience in planning law within a local authority or comparable public sector settingStrong expertise in Section 106 agreements is essentialAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and drafting skillsBenefits
